Fort Wayne, IN --- Komet winger K.J. Voorhees has retired from professional hockey and has accepted a position as Youth Hockey Director in Knoxville, Tennessee.
Voorhees, 29, started the season with the Komets and was appearing in his 7th pro season. This season was Voorhees first with the Komets after skating stints the last 4 seasons with Knoxville in the ACHL, SEHL and SPHL. Voorhees appeared in 31 games with the Komets this year scoring 4 goals and 12 points.
Voorhees will be leaving the Fort Wayne area this week in time to begin his new position as Youth Hockey Director this Friday.
