Port Huron Flags News Release

Game Recaps

Wednesday, Feb. 7 Port Huron 2 @ Ft. Wayne 4

Bobby Kukulka netted the first goal of the night, but a retaliation from the Komets tied the score. Mike Olynyk scored in the second period, but Fort Wayne responded with three unanswered markers to finish off the visiting Flags.

Friday, Feb. 9 Muskegon 3 vs. Port Huron 2

Muskegon drew first blood, but tallies from Steve Hildenbrand and Kris Vernarsky in the second period put the Flags ahead at the start of the final frame. The Fury rallied in the third, however, and scored twice to take the lead and steal the game from the home team.

Saturday, Feb. 10 Port Huron 0 @ Kalamazoo 3

With the Wings up by one, the Flags scored a goal that was taken away by the referee for a supposed hand pass. Kalamazoo scored twice after that to claim the shut-out victory.

Sunday, Feb. 11 Chicago 4 vs. Port Huron 5

Jeremy Tucker and Bobby Kukulka put the Flags up by two before the Hounds netted their first goal. Mike James reclaimed the two point lead, but Chicago returned the favor. Kukulka's second marker of the night completed the Flags scoring, but a late surge from Chicago sent the game to a shoot-out. Steve Hildenbrand and Mark Cadotte found the net while Dustin Traylen stopped 4 of 5 Chicago shooters for the win.
