
UHL names weekly award winners

LAKE ST. LOUIS, MO--- The United Hockey League (UHL) announced Monday that Chicago Hounds forward Drew Otten has been named Sher-Wood UHL Player of the Week and Rockford IceHogs goaltender Frederic Cloutier has been named Southern Sports Supply UHL Goaltender of the Week for the period ending Sunday, February 11th, 2007.
Otten completed the week with six points (3g, 3a) and a plus-5 rating in four games played. Scoring in all four games, he netted the game-winner in both a 4-2 win over Kalamazoo on Wednesday and a 3-2 victory at Elmira on Saturday. In the win over Elmira, he was chosen as the first star, finishing with two goals and one assist. He tallied an assist in both of the Hounds other two games of the week. The 28-year-old native of Minnetonka, Minnesota, has scored 11 points (5g, 6a) in 13 games with Chicago this season.
Other players nominated for the Sher-Wood UHL Player of the Week include: Bloomington center Tyler Rennette, Elmira right wing Brent Cullaton, Flint center Terry Marchant, Fort Wayne left wing Daniel Goneau, Kalamazoo center Kory Karlander, Muskegon left wing Mike Watt, Quad City forward Brett Pilkington and Rockford center Preston Mizzi.
Cloutier finished the week with a 3-0-0 record, a 1.00 goals against average (GAA) and a .954 save percentage (SPCT). Allowing only one goal in all three victories, he made 21 saves in a 6-1 win over Bloomington on Wednesday. In back-to-back games on Friday and Saturday, he made 16 stops in a 2-1 victory over Flint and 25 saves in a 5-1 defeat of Muskegon. It is the fourth weekly honor for the 25-year-old native of Saint-Honore, Quebec. Cloutier currently ranks third in the UHL in wins (24), GAA (2.46) and SPCT (.917), and he has won 12 of his last 14 starts in goal.
Other goaltenders nominated for the Southern Sports Supply UHL Goaltender of the Week include: Chicago's Brenden Cuthbert, Elmira's Dave Lemanowicz, Flint's Bryan Muzzatti, Fort Wayne's Dan McWhinney, Kalamazoo's Ryan Nie, Muskegon's Ryan Cyr, Port Huron's Dustin Traylen and Quad City's Jason Tapp.
