Orlando City SC News Release
City's 2019 Open Cup run continues Tuesday night at Exploria Stadium in a Semifinal meeting with Atlanta United. Tickets are just $15 here.
Key Transactions
Atlanta has added a couple of pieces since our May 12th meeting in Georgia. United acquired Emerson Hyndman on July 1st on loan from English side Bournemouth and acquired Mo Adams via trade from Chicago on July 17th.
Who's Hot?
Josef Martinez is leading the way for Atlanta with 18 goals on the season but most recently he's scored in nine straight matches. Defensively United has held teams scoreless 11 times.
Team Form
Atlanta is 3-2-0 in their last five MLS appearances with the pair of losses coming on the road against Seattle and LAFC. United has made it to the Semifinals by way of knocking out St. Louis, Columbus and Charleston.
Head-to-head
City and Atlanta have had plenty of league play meetings through the two and a half years both teams have been in the league together, but this will be their first meeting in the Open Cup.
Rasmussen College Fun Fact
Atlanta has two former Lions on their squad. Justin Meram was acquired via trade back in May while Brek Shea was signed as a free agent in December. Shea will be unavailable due to an ACL injury.
