Charlotte Knights News Release
FORT MILL, S.C. - July 5, 2008 - When you have a former ALCS MVP batting third in your lineup it makes a difference. The Knights certainly benefited from having Chicago White Sox slugger Paul Konerko hitting in the middle of the lineup. The Knights were 11-6 winners over visiting Durham.
Konerko went 1 for 2 in the game with 4 walks and 2 RBI's. There was no better example of Konerko's presence than in the bottom of the 5th inning when he drew a bases loaded walk that helped increase the Knights lead.
IL All-Star Chris Getz also walked four times in the game and Nick Blasi, Royce Huffman and Javier Castillo each had two RBI's. Reliever Tomo Ohka earned the victory for the Knights.
The Charlotte Knights are the Triple-A affiliate of the Chicago White Sox. For ticket or event information, please contact the Knights front office at (704) 357-8071 or (803) 548-8050 or visit our website at www.charlotteknights.com for more information.
