(Fort Mill, SC) - Reliever Donnie Veal (3-3, 3.14) allowed an unearned run in the bottom of the ninth inning and the Gwinnett Braves, who were the home team at Knights Stadium, beat the Charlotte Knights 4-3 on Thursday in the suspended game from Tuesday. The win was Gwinnett's fourth-straight over Charlotte.

Two days ago, the Knights and Braves began a game from Coolray Field in Lawrenceville, GA. Before the teams could get through two full innings, the rain began to fall and the game was delayed. After a one-hour and 12 minute delay, the game was officially suspended.

Since Charlotte was not scheduled to face Gwinnett again at Coolray Field this season, the two teams were set to play Tuesday's suspended game at 5:15 p.m. from Knights Stadium on Thursday. However, due to rain in the forecast, it started at 6:02 p.m. When it did start, the game was 0-0 in the bottom of the second inning.

Charlotte got on the scoreboard first in the top of the fourth inning, but it was Gwinnett who got the final run in the bottom of the ninth.

RHP Eric Junge (5-8, 4.76) took to the hill on Thursday to begin the suspended game for Gwinnett. Junge allowed three runs on 11 hits over seven innings to earn the win.

Knights pitcher Charlie Shirek was on the hill for Charlotte when the game was resumed. He allowed three runs on seven hits over 6.2 innings and did not factor in the decision.

The Knights and Braves are currently playing their originally scheduled matchup from Knights Stadium, which is a seven-inning game. LHP Scott Olsen took the mound to start the game for Charlotte, while Gwinnett handed the ball to RHP Buddy Carlyle.
