Knights and Chiefs Suspended on Wednesday

(SYRACUSE, NY) -- Wednesday's game between the Charlotte Knights and Syracuse Chiefs from NBT Bank Stadium in Syracuse, NY has been suspended due to heavy rain and wet grounds. The two teams will resume Wednesday's suspended game at 4:35 p.m. on Thursday from Syracuse, NY. The two teams will play that game to its conclusion and then play the regularly scheduled game after a 30-minute intermission. Thursday's regularly scheduled contest will be a seven-inning game.

The Knights lead the Chiefs by a score of 2-0 thanks to back-to-back home runs in the fourth inning from left fielder Eloy Jiménez and shortstop José Rondόn. Rondόn has a team-high 15 home runs, while Jiménez has nine. RHP Jordan Stephens tossed four shutout innings for the Knights. The two teams completed four full innings before the game was stopped due to rain on Wednesday night.

Pre-game radio coverage on Thursday will begin at 4:30 p.m. on 730 The Game ESPN Charlotte. The "Voice of the Charlotte Knights" Matt Swierad will have the call for all of the action.
