Indy Walks off in Game Two

A walk-off single by Jason Martin in the bottom of the ninth inning lifted Indianapolis to the 4-3 win at Victory Field. The Indians have now taken the first two games of the series from the Pigs.
Drew Anderson did not take a decision in the game but yielded six-strong innings for the Pigs. Striking out four and allowing six hits, Anderson has not lost a decision while July 2nd. Mark Leiter Jr was first out of the pen with the Pigs trailing by one and tossed a scoreless seventh-inning.
The Indians opened the scoring the bottom of the first against Anderson with a two-run home run by Ryan Lavarnway. In the third, Joey Meneses got the Pigs on the board with a RBI single to make it 2-1.
Danny Ortiz, who played for Indy in 2017, drove in a pair of game tying runs for the Pigs. Trailing 2-1 in the forth, Ortiz homered for the tenth time to tie the game at two. After the Indians retook the lead in the fifth, Ortiz knotted the game once again in the eighth with a game tying double.
With the game tied, Hector Neris took over for the IronPigs in the eighth. After setting down the first two hitters, the Indians loaded the bases against Neris. After back to back singles and a ten pitch walk, Indy had the go-ahead run 90 feet away. Neris responded with his second strike out of the inning to leave the bases loaded and keep the game tied.
Pedro Beato (6-3) took over for the Pigs in the ninth with the game tied. Eric Wood led off the bottom of the frame with a double into the left-field corner. After a sacrifice bunt, the winning run was at third with one out. A single through the right-side by Martin scored the winning run.
The IronPigs and Indians will wrap up their three game set tomorrow night at 7:05.
Fans can see the Pigs at Coca-Cola Park again on August 13th when the Durham Bulls visit Allentown.
