The Keys handed Kinston a 9-1 loss Monday night at Harry Grove stadium in the series finale, sending Kinston out of town having lost two of three games.

Clayton Cook struggled through his outing, allowing the Keys to get on the board in the first inning after a walk of Bobby Stevens came back to bite Kinston's starter. Jacob Julius jump started a four run third inning with a lead off home run. Nine Keys batters came to the plate in the third inning. The K-Tribe defense did not help Cook in the fourth, committing two errors in the three run frame.

Cook went four innings, giving up eight runs, seven of which were earned in his 76 pitch effort. Cook gave up ten hits and walked one in picking up his sixth loss of the season.

Trey Haley made his Indians debut, giving up one run in the fifth before striking out the Frederick side in the sixth. Jose Flores and Kyle Landis kept Frederick scoreless through the final two innings.

Adam Abraham went 1/1 with two walks and Jeremie Tice turned in the only multi hit effort for Kinston, finishing 2/3 with a walk.

Kinston has a scheduled off day on Tuesday before resuming Carolina League action, Wednesday night at Potomac. Brett Brach will try to get Kinston back on the winning track with a first pitch set for 7:05 pm Wednesday.
