Quad City Riverhawks News Release

Davenport - The Quad Cities Riverhawks (9-4) ABA Professional basketball team suffered another tough loss to the Peoria Kings (4-9) losing 120-115. Corey Minnifield shot 8-9 from the field and had 17points at the half. Unlike Minnifield, the Riverhawks as a team shot an ugly 1-9 from behind the arc. The Kings on the other hand shot 58% from the field to help them hold on to the lead.

The Riverhawks came out with some fire in the second half. The biggest deficit was 22 points in the third quarter. The 3-D baskets cut the lead down to put the Riverhawks back into the game. Glen Worley scored 7 points in a 14 second span, but that was not enough to put the Riverhawks on top. Lonnie Randolph scored 20 of his team high 27 points in the second half to cut the lead within three with 19 seconds left. Minnifield added 21 and Tony Weeden added 20 in the losing effort. Leading scorers for the Kings were Bobby Anderson with 33 points and Todd Peterson with 17 points.

The Riverhawks are home tomorrow as they host the new Sauk Valley Rollers at 7:05pm at Marycrest College.
