Cape Cod Frenzy News Release
Hyannis, Massachusetts: The Frenzy are preparing this week to face their conference rival, the 8-4 Strong Island Sound, in a rematch this Sunday at 4:05 PM at Barnstable High School.
At point guard for the Sound is the 2006 AND1 Streetball Tour contract winner Jerome Holman aka "Circus". Streetball fans will remember "Circus" when the AND1 Streetball Tour came to Boston in August and performed at the TD Banknorth Garden. The following week, Holman was the big 2006 contract winner. He will now be a regular on the 2007 team which tours the world, showing off the flamboyant style of streetball.
The 5-4 Frenzy are 0-2 against the Sound, who are in first place of the Blue Central Division and ranked 7th in the weekly ABA Power Rankings. Cape Cod is currently in 4th place of the Blue North Conference and ranked 21st in the ABA Power Rankings. A win Sunday would no doubt boost Cape Cod upwards in the rankings. The Sound first defeated the Frenzy on November 18th 113-97 in Long Island. Last weekend the Sound won again at home 110-97 against Cape Cod. They also notched an impressive victory over the 8-2 Vermont Frost Heaves in overtime 104-98 at home.
But the Sound will be facing a different Frenzy team from the previous two games. For one, the Frenzy welcomes back dynamic 6'7 forward Rob Sanders (22ppg 12rpg) from an injury. And the Frenzy have signed two new key additions: 6'7 power forward Raheim Lamb (UMass) and 6'6 guard-forward Byron Mouton (Maryland). Lamb contributed 18 points and 9 boards in the Frenzy's victory over Montreal on Sunday.
Special Ticket pricing for next Sunday's game IS in effect: Tickets are just $10 for adults, $8 for students, and just $4 for kids under 12. You can always buy Frenzy tickets online at www.capecodfrenzy.com via E-Ticket or at the game. Note: OurSports Central no longer actively covers the American Basketball Association (ABA) as a professional league due in part to its inability to publish and play a schedule and the transitory nature of many of its teams.
