Frenzy Show Devasting Punch

July 13, 2007 - American Basketball Association (ABA)
Cape Cod Frenzy News Release

Boston, Massachusetts: The Cape Cod Frenzy of the American Basketball Association (ABA) welcomed the addition of forwards Scott Hazelton and Rob Sanders to their summer league game last night, with devastating results, as they won convincingly 152-117 over the Renegades.

Guard Dwight Brewington continued his offensive onslaught of the Boston Premiere Summer Pro Exposure League with 48 points for the Frenzy. He scored 51 in the previous game. The Frenzy fielded six players between 6'6 and 6'8 - all of whom can dribble, shoot, run and jump. They overwhelmed the Renegades on the boards and got in the passing lanes. This energy transferred Cape Cod into their running game. At the 4:00 minute mark of the second quarter, 6'6 point guard Eric Downie threw a no-look alleyoop pass to Sanders for a one hand catch and flush.

Rob Sanders, a 2007 first team All-ABA selection, scored 28 points on a variety of slams, follow ups, and interior plays Scott Hazelton, the 2006 Premiere Playoff MVP, scored 29 points while Eric Downie chipped in 27 while playing the point guard position. Eddie Allen led the Renegades with 33.

Up next for the Frenzy is Vermont in the Greater Springfield Pro Am Basketball League on Friday night at 7:45. On Saturday and Sunday at 2:00 pm, the Frenzy will take on two more opponents in the Boston Premiere Summer Pro Exposure League at Mass Arts.
