Kings Assign Tripp, Zizka To Manchester

MANCHESTER, NH - The Los Angeles Kings, the NHL affiliate of the Manchester Monarchs, on Wednesday assigned right wing John Tripp (conditioning assignment) and defenseman Tomas Zizka to Manchester. Zizka, 24, has appeared in four games with the Kings this season recording zero points and eight penalty minutes. The 6-foot-1, 213-pound native of Sternberk, Czech Republic, has also appeared in 37 games with the Monarchs this season, registering 15 points (3-12=15) and 23 penalty minutes. Drafted by the Kings in the sixth-round (163rd overall) in the 1998 NHL Entry Draft, Zizka has appeared in 14 career NHL regular season games, all with the Kings, and has three points (all assists) and 12 penalty minutes.

Tripp, 26, returned to the lineup in Tuesday's Kings-Calgary Flames game after missing seven games with a facial injury. The 6-foot-3, 223-pounder from Kingston, Ontario, made his NHL debut last season with the New York Rangers. In 21 games this year with the Kings, Tripp has four points (all assists) and 26 penalty minutes. In addition, he has appeared in 22 games with the Monarchs, recording 14 points (7-7=14) and 33 penalty minutes.

The Kings (21-15-13-5) return to the ice after the All-Star Break on Tuesday, February 10 at the Minnesota Wild. That game, which begins at 8 p.m. (ET), will be broadcast on Fox Sports Net, ESPN radio 710 - KSPN and along the Kings Radio Network.

The Monarchs (23-19-3-3) return to the ice when they meet the Springfield Falcons at the Springfield Civic Center on Friday, February 6 at 7:35 p.m. After that, the Monarchs return home to host the Worcester IceCats at 7:35 p.m. at the Verizon Wireless Arena. Less than 300 seats remain for Saturday's game.
