Foster, Cassivi Return to Chicago

The Atlanta Thrashers have reassigned defenseman Kurtis Foster and goaltender Frederic Cassivi to the Chicago Wolves.

Foster recorded his first National Hockey League point with an assist last night against the Boston Bruins. Overall, Foster has registered one point in four NHL games spanning the last two seasons (2002-2004)

The Carp, Ontario, native leads American Hockey League blueliners with seven power-play goals this season, and ranks second among AHL defensemen with nine goals.

Cassivi, who did not appear in a game with Atlanta after being recalled on Jan. 31, is currently on a season-high four-game winning streak with the Wolves, allowing just six goals during that span. Overall, the Sorel, Quebec native has registered a 9-5-5-2 mark with a .917 save percentage in 23 games with Chicago this season.

The 28-year-old netminder posted a 1-1-0 mark and a 5.37 goals-against average with Atlanta last season, which includes a 4-3 overtime victory against the Buffalo Sabres on Feb. 17.

Overall, the Sorel, Quebec, native has posted a 3-4-0 record with a 3.90 goals-against average in eight NHL games with the Thrashers spanning the last two seasons.
