
Pirates and Ground Round Grill and Bar Ink Deal

PORTLAND, ME â The Portland Pirates announced today that they have entered into an agreement with The Ground Round Grill and Bar naming the restaurant an official sponsor of the Pirates for the remainder of the 2003-2004 season. Fans will immediately notice The Ground Round Grill and Bar's presence at all Pirates' games with dasherboard signage at the Cumberland County Civic Center.
"The Ground Round Grill and Bar brand has long been synonymous with great family dining," said Brian Petrovek, Pirates' Managing Owner/CEO. "They're a perfect fit to our family of corporate partners, all of whom support our mission of supplying top quality, family entertainment."
"We at The Ground Round Grill and Bar are very excited about our relationship with the Pirates," said Richard Trahey, General Manager. "We look forward to serving the players, their families and the many Pirates' fans."
The Ground Round Grill and Bar is located at 195 Maine Mall Road in South Portland.
The Pirates continue their string of four straight home games on Friday, February 6th when they host the Worcester IceCats at 7:05 p.m. On that night, the Pirates will help the Portland Regional Chamber celebrate its 150th Anniversary. Five lucky members of the Portland Regional Chamber or Pirates Season Ticket Holders will have a chance to "roll the dice" during the first intermission for a chance to split a jackpot of $150,000.
The Pirates finish on Saturday, February 7th when they welcome the Providence Bruins at 7:05 p.m. Prior to the game, the Pirates will host a pre-game concert featuring recording artist Warren Barfield. Gates open at 4:00 p.m. The concert begins at 4:30 p.m. The concert is free with the purchase of a ticket to the game. It's brought to you by Positive Hit Radio, WMSJ Joy 89.3 FM and is sponsored by the Cumberland County Civic Center. The first 1,000 kids through the gates receive a foam puck courtesy of Better Hockey Magazine. During the first intermission, some lucky fans will compete on the ice for a set of diamond earrings worth $2,500 courtesy of Day's Fine Jewelers.
