February 27, 2018 - American Hockey League (AHL)
Ontario Reign News Release
LOS ANGELES - The Los Angeles Kings and LA Galaxy, in conjunction with AEG Sports, today announced a unique sports business partnership with Accelerated Sports Career Academy (ASCA).
As part of the announcement a special AEG Sports Inside Sales Room has been created to help generate ticket revenue and improve customer service for three teams in Southern California - the Kings, the LA Galaxy (Major League Soccer) and the Ontario Reign (American Hockey League) - while also providing a creative platform for entry level sports executives under the leadership of ASCA and AEG Sports.
"We have a strong commitment with our teams to be the best in all of sports on and off the field. This will add resources to our teams to continue to assure the fan experience at our arenas and stadiums is the best atmosphere to meet that vision," said Kings and AEG Sports Chief Operating Officer Kelly Cheeseman. "Continuing to invest in people is at the core of developing great organizations. This will allow us to start and cultivate many new careers at AEG Sports with our teams, developing a pipeline of great talent for the years ahead.
"In ASCA's first year of operations in Los Angeles, they have proven to train great sales talent for teams across the country, in particular our teams. This partnership will create a unique opportunity for both parties to really complement each other's goals of growing careers in sports."
Based in downtown Los Angeles under the leadership of Ryan Miller, Vice President of Business Development & Strategy for AEG Sports, a significant element to today's announcement is the inclusion of ASCA.
ASCA is a dedicated sports and entertainment training academy designed to assist the sports business industry with finding the most qualified candidates for business operations. With a heavy focus on sales and service, ASCA both trains and places qualified candidates and serves all sports and leagues in the industry.
As part of this partnership, ASCA will also provide regular training to the AEG inside sales department and serve as a pipeline for future openings within AEG Sports. ASCA has currently placed over 70 percent of its graduates into full time roles with nearly 40 different sports organizations.
