Kingfish to Hold "What If Night," Presented by Snap-on Thursday, July 17

Kenosha Kingfish News Release
Kenosha, Wis. - "What If - A simple question that even perfectly happy people cannot help but ask themselves from time to time. After a spectacular launch of the Kenosha Kingfish brand, it is time to ask that question. What if the Kingfish instead were called the Kenosha Sockets?
In February of 2013 a "Name Your Team Contest" was started to help name the newest member of the Northwoods League to be based in Kenosha. Over a two month period, more than 750 name ideas were submitted by the proud citizens of Kenosha. Six names were then chosen to be voted on by the public; Comets, Esox, Coopers, Lake Bears, Kingfish, and Sockets. Though "Kingfish" was the eventual winner, one easily wonders how things could have been different.
Thursday night will be the chance to see just that. The Kingfish, an impressive 9-8 in the second half of the season, will take the field against Wisconsin Rapids as the Kenosha Sockets. The team will don Sockets jerseys as well as Sockets hats. The jerseys will then be auctioned off following the game, with proceeds going to charity. The Sockets hats will be available in the team store with all profits also going to charity. The Socket brand was a reference to the proud heritage of Snap-on in the community and fittingly, the night will be presented by Snap-on.
The night will embrace all-things Snap-on including the Snap-on truck on display at the stadium and many of the on-field promotions incorporating the Sockets theme.
The Kingfish will be at historic Simmons Field this weekend with plenty of entertainment. Friday, July 18th, will be Lee Plumbing, Heating, Cooling & Electric Twins Turn Back The Clock Night where Kingfish players will wear pink Kenosha Twins jerseys. Both Friday and Saturday night will also include post-game fireworks.
The season is going by quickly with only a limited number of home games left. To see the Kingfish in action during their inaugural season, contact the Kenosha Kingfish ticket office at 262.653.0900 or log on to www.kingfishbaseball.com for further information.
