Kenosha Kingfish News Release
Kenosha, Wis. - The Kenosha Kingfish welcomed the St. Cloud Rox to historic Simmons Field Wednesday to launch the second half of the season. As a result of the long awaited "Guaranteed Win Night," Kingfish General Manager Jake McGhee moved into the Bambino following the team's victory.
A superstitious McGhee vowed that if the Kingfish won, he would sleep on the Bambino until they lost again. After a dominant performance from starter Rico Garcia, 1B Alex Dunlap's 5th inning at-bat sent an ominous sign to McGhee. The Stanford slugger clubbed a ball into left field and onto the Bambino, hitting his GM's tent on a fly. Said McGhee, "I think that is a sign I could be out there for a long, long, time."
Once the team's victory was finalized, the Human Cannonball took the stage at Simmons Field. McGhee took in the performance before marooning himself on the Bambino for the night. After a quick bedtime story from King Elvis I, McGhee was tucked in for the evening. "I'd be more than happy to sleep out here for weeks, because it would mean we kept on winning," says the GM. "But I'd prefer if the temperature got above 55 degrees at night."
