Kingfish Fall in Green Bay 10-4

Kenosha, Wis. - The Kingfish (16-20) suffered a 10-4 defeat at the hands of Green Bay tonight to end the first half of the Northwoods league season.

The Kingfish got out to an early 2-0 lead, but the advantage did not last long. Green Bay tied the game on a Hill Alexander home run in 2nd, and proceeded to coast to victory.

Chase Thurston was used as a spot starter tonight for the Kingfish and struggled early. Thurston worked 2.2 innings, allowed 4 hits, 5 runs, and took the loss. Andrew Burnick allowed 3 earned runs in 2.2 innings, before JR Holloway tossed 1.2 perfect innings of relief.

Offensively, Blake Reese had another strong day at the plate, as he went 3 for 5 with a double and 2 RBI. Mason Fishback had a 2 for 4 night, with Rob Henry tacking on a 2 for 3 performance. Pete Schuler helped get the offense going with 2 RBIs as well.

The second half of the Northwoods League season begins tomorrow. The Kingfish will play the south division first-half champion Wisconsin Rapids Rafters tomorrow night at Witter Field. First pitch will be at 7:05 CT.
