Bullfrog Bats Come Alive in 10-4 Victory over Kingfish

Green Bay, Wis. - The Green Bay Bullfrogs gave their fans a lot to cheer about in the final game of the first half of the season. The Bullfrogs defeated the Kenosha Kingfish 10-4 thanks to a strong offensive performance.

Matt Ellenbest (Morehead State) started for the Bullfrogs and earned the victory. Although he started slowly giving up two runs in the first, Ellenbest settled in and completed six and a third innings giving up ten hits, four runs, and striking out two batters.

Hill Alexander (Midland) opened the scoring for the Bullfrogs when he sent a two run shot over the left field wall in the second inning. The Bullfrogs plated three more runs in the third inning thanks to a Parker Coss (UC Irvine) two RBI single and a fielder ' s choice that plated a run.

The bats stayed hot throughout the entire game. The Bullfrogs scored two runs in both the fifth and sixth innings. The strong offensive performance was capped off by an Austin Clemons (Louisville) solo home run in the bottom of the eighth inning. It was his second homer in as many days.

The Bullfrogs bullpen shut down the Kingfish in the final three innings. B.J. Sabol (Indiana) pitched two scoreless innings and Peter Castillo (Palm Beach State) slammed the door in the ninth.

Tomorrow, the Bullfrogs hit the road against the Rockford Rivets for the first time this season. First pitch is at 6:35pm.
