
King Hits The Disabled List

OTTAWA - 3B Brennan King has been placed on the disabled list after injuring his thumb last night in Durham while RHP Jason Anderson was transferred to Double-A Reading. IF Joey Hammond returns to Ottawa after being transferred to Reading yesterday, joining C Tim Gradoville as additions to the Lynx roster.
King, 26, is hitting .279 with 2 HR and 26 RBI for the Lynx this season. He has started all but one game this season at third base. He spent last season with the Phillies' Triple-A affiliate in Scranton/Wilkes-Barre, hitting .261 with 12 HR and 48 RBI in 97 games.
Anderson, 27, was 0-1 with a 5.73 ERA in five games with the Lynx, including two starts. He spent last season with the Portland Beavers of the Triple-A Pacific Coast League, where he went 5-2 with a 3.29 ERA and four saves in 60 games out of the Portland bullpen. He has a career record of 41-29 with a 3.26 ERA and 34 saves in seven Minor League seasons.
Hammond, 29, is hitting .375 with 2 RBI in four games with the Lynx this season. He was a force with Reading before his promotion to Ottawa, batting .342 with 17 runs batted in over 32 games with the R-Phils. He has a .272 career batting average over nine seasons in the Minor Leagues. He played in Ottawa in both 2003 and 2004, combining for a .257 average, one home run and 62 runs batted in over 193 games with the Lynx.
Gradoville, 27, is hitting .181 with 1 RBI for Reading this season. He spent most of last season at Double-A Reading, hitting .261 with 1 HR and 13 RBI in 35 games and won Reading's Eugene L. Shirk Award for Community Service. The Phillies purchased his contract last September, but he did not appear in a Major League game. He is a career .222 Minor League hitter in his sixth professional season.
