King County Royals News Release

SEATTLE - The King County Royals, an expansion team in the American Basketball Association, are set to host Beijing Aoshen Olympian in the team's second regular season game Monday. The game is set for an 8 p.m. tip-off at the Wellness Center on the campus of North Seattle Community College.

The Royals are coming off a season-opening 108-96 loss to the Bellingham Slam on Nov. 12. The Royals were led by a trio of players with northwest college ties. Randy Green, from Washington State, scored 36 points in the game, while Darnell Taylor, from Western Washington, and ex-Seattle Pacific star Chad Williams scored 16 and 12 points, respectively. Green also pulled down 14 rebounds in the game.

Monday's game will be the first regular season action for Beijing Aoshen Olympian, a former Chinese Basketball Association team playing its second season in the ABA. Last season, the Olympian reached the second round of the ABA playoffs and featured 6'9" point guard and NBA prospect Sun Yue and also guard Fred Vinson, who played in a handful of games with the Seattle Supersonics in 2000.

Admission for the Royals/Olympian game at the North Seattle Community College Wellness Center is $5. For more information call the King County Royals at 360-734-7526 or visit their website at www.kingcountyroyals.com.
