Las Vegas, NV - Steelheads' defenseman Tyler Kindle scored short-handed with 2:27 left in double overtime, lifting the visitors to a 1-0 shutout victory over the Las Vegas Wranglers in Game One of the West Division Semi-Finals at Orleans Arena on Tuesday night.
With the victory, the Steelheads take a 1-0 lead in the best-of-seven series, allowing them to take over home ice advantage.
With the Wranglers on their fifth power play late in double overtime, Dan Hacker raced into the home team's zone on the right wing side and fed a centering pass through the slot. The puck was tipped by David Bararuk over to Kindle, who snapped the puck over the blocker of Wranglers' goaltender Marc Magliarditi (43 saves) and just underneath the crossbar for his first career playoff goal.

After a scoreless third period it was on to the first five-on-five, 20-minute sudden death overtime. After three stanzas, the Wranglers held a 36-26 shot advantage. Both teams entered the playoffs with a 1-4 record in overtime this season.
