Fresno Falcons News Release
Fresno, Calif. - The Fresno Falcons announced today that the team has agreed to terms with defensemen Tyler Kindle and Dan Glover for the 2007-08 season.
Kindle returns to Fresno this season for his fifth pro season. The 29-year-old appeared in 39 games for the Falcons last season tallying 10 goals and adding 13 assists before being traded to Las Vegas on January 28. The Wranglers in turn traded him to Reading, where he appeared in three games, before finishing the season in the United Hockey League's Kalamazoo Wings. Kindle matched his career-high last season, tallying 34 points in 58 games. Overall in 253 professional games, Kindle has 42 goals and 93 assists for 135 points.
"We are excited to have Tyler back for this season," Falcons Head Coach and General Manager Matt Thomas said. "He's a versatile player that will give us an offensive element from the blue line, and also be able to play up front when needed."
The 2007-08 season is Glover's first professional campaign. The 24-year-old completed his collegiate career last season at Cornell University, where in four seasons he tallied 11 points and added 79 penalty minutes in 84 games. Glover was an eighth-round selection of the New Jersey Devils in the 2002 NHL Entry Draft.
"Dan Glover comes from one of the premier college programs in the nation," Thomas said. "Cornell is a defensive powerhouse year in and year out. That, and his size, will add a different dimension to our defensive corps."
The Falcons open the 2007-08 season on Friday, October 19, hosting the Las Vegas Wranglers at 7:30 p.m. for an Opening Night Extravaganza, presented by Eye Q Vision Care. The first 1,000 kids 12 and under receive a replica Falcons' jersey.
