Bombers Sign Rookie Smyth

Dayton, OH- The Dayton Bombers General Manager Don MacAdam announced today the signing of rookie right wing Ryan Smyth. Per club policy, terms of the deal were not disclosed.

"I'm excited to get my feet wet," said Smyth. "Dayton will be a great professional experience and opportunity for me."

Smyth, a 22-year-old native of Clarence Creek, Ontario, Canada, skated with the Colgate University Raiders from 2002-2006, setting a club record for career games played with 154.

During Smyth's senior season, he scored a career-high 24 points (4G, 20A) and was awarded the "Coaches Award". The 6-foot-one-inch, 200-pound Smyth finished his collegiate career with 11 goals and 44 assists for 55 points. Smyth also picked up 110 PIM during his four years.

Smyth is the seventh player to join the Bombers roster this season.

The Bombers' Opening Night Extravaganza is Saturday, October 20, against the rival Cincinnati Cyclones (7:00 p.m.) at the Ervin J. Nutter Center. Group tickets for Opening Night are on sale now by calling 775-4747.
