Frederick Keys News Release
After 13 consecutive home games, the Keys bats enjoyed the change of scenery. Frederick scored a season-high 14 runs on 15 hits as they defeated the Winston-Salem Dash, 14-7. In his Carolina League debut, LF Trent Mummey went 4-for-6 with a double, triple, and five runs batted in. RF Jacob Julius had four RBI including three on his first home run of the season. With the win, the Keys improved to 7-9 while the Dash fell to 7-10.
Facing RHP Terry Doyle, Frederick got off to a quick start. CF Kyle Hudson reached on a bunt single and Trent Mummey followed with a double down the left field line. 2B LJ Hoes, 1B Tyler Townsend, RF Jacob Julius, and 3B Dale Mollenhauer each drove in a run as the Keys gave RHP Jacob Rasner a four-run cushion before he ever hit the hill.
Rasner got off to a great start in his return to Winston-Salem. Rasner allowed two hits and no runs to score through his first four innings.
Mummey added to the lead with a RBI single in the second and Julius blasted a three-run shot in the fifth to make the Frederick advantage eight.
