Frederick Keys News Release

SALEM, VA - After completing only one inning, the Frederick Keys and the Salem Red Sox were suspended on account of rain. Tuesday's game will be continued as part of a quasi-doubleheader on Wednesday. Game one will be resumed at 4 p.m, with all nine innings being completed. The second game will be seven innings long and will start no earlier than 7:05 p.m.

Neither side scored in the first inning, while play was halted after Jake Thompson missed on his first two pitches to Jomar Reyes. Making his first start in more than four months for the Keys, Cody Sedlock pitched a scoreless first inning. He allowed two hits and struck out two.

Keys left-hander Zac Lowther (4-2, 2.50) is slated to take the mound when game one resumes in the top of the second inning. Right-hander Lucas Humpal (3-8, 5.17) is scheduled to pitch game two for Frederick. Both games can be heard on frederickkeys.com and the TuneIn radio app, with pre-game coverage starting at 3:45.

The Keys return to Nymeo Field from Friday, August 24-Sunday, August 26 when the Carolina Mudcats come to town. Homestand highlights include Alzheimer's Awareness Night, Scout Night presented by Wegman's, Game of Thrones Night and Prince and Princess Day to go with two fireworks shows.
