CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa - The Kernels walked-off the Beloit Snappers for the second straight night as Adam Brett Walker doubled to center in the bottom of the 9th to give the Kernels a 6-5 win. The Kernels have won the first two games of the series and seven out of their last eight games.
Beloit pushes across a run in the 2nd to get on the scoreboard first. Chris Bostick led off with a double and later scored on a sacrifice fly from John Wooten.
The Snappers added three runs in the 3rd. An RBI single by Daniel Robertson, RBI groundout from Renato Nunez, and an RBI double from Ryan Mathews extended Beloit's advantage to 4-0. Beloit also got a run in the 4th via an error, making it a 5-0 contest.
The Kernels recorded their first run in the 4th. Jorge Polanco doubled to lead off the frame as Max Kepler's RBI groundout scored Polanco. But the Kernels had their big inning in the 6th.
Niko Goodrum and Polanco led off the frame with back to back singles, Max Kepler later reached on a fielder's choice to score Goodrum, and then Joel Licon stepped to the plate with two runners on and two outs.
