American Celebration Night at Fifth Third Field

Dayton, Ohio - The Dayton Dragons, in conjunction with the Dayton Development Coalition, will host the "American Celebration Night" at Fifth Third Field on Saturday, August 17th, when the Dragons host the West Michigan Whitecaps at 7 PM.

As part of the season-long celebration of the Hometown Heroes program, the DDC, the Dayton Dragons, and the best fans in minor league baseball will take time to pay tribute to all service men and women associated with Wright-Patterson Air Force Base and the Springfield Air National Guard Base.

Systems Go, from the Air Force Band of Flight, will perform on the plaza before the game. SrA Felita LaRock will perform the National Anthem and God Bless America. During the National Anthem, the Wright-Patterson Air Force Base Honor Guard will present the colors and children of airmen from the base will unveil a giant flag across the outfield. Team Fast Trax skydivers will also plunge to the field before the game.

During the game, the Dragons will welcome home nine airmen that recently returned to Wright-Patterson after deployment, while 15 new recruits will be sworn in. Members of the 445th Airlift Wing will be recognized for the missions in Afghanistan, Hurricane Sandy relief, global medical aid, and Haiti relief. Northmont's NJROTC Drill Team will also perform.

The night will be capped off with a fireworks show to celebrate all of the brave men and women who serve our country.
