Kenosha Kingfish Game Preview- June 15th
June 15, 2014 - Northwoods League (Northwoods)
Kenosha Kingfish News Release
Looking to add to a season-high four game winning streak, the Kingfish visit the St. Cloud Rox for a doubleheader Sunday at Joe Faber Field. The scheduled double-dose of baseball is a result of severe weather yesterday in central Minnesota. The first game will be a full continuation of Saturday's contest in which the score is currently tied 1-1 in the bottom of the fourth. The second game however will last just seven innings and begin 30 minutes following the conclusion of the first.
Thus far, both teams have tallied four hits. Starters Rex Morrow and Josh Taylor pitched well before lightning and excessive rain forced the game to be postponed. This marks a second consecutive quality appearance for the right-handed Morrow, as he allowed zero earned runs and just one hit in relief on against Kalamazoo on June 8th.
The starters for the second leg of the doubleheader are Connor Kelly (2-1) of the Kingfish and Kenny Anderson (1-1) of the Rox. Kelly has been fantastic during his time in a Kenosha uniform, compiling a 2.20 ERA in three starts. The right-hander went six complete in his last outing for manager Duffy Dyer, striking out three and allowing just one run.
The team's next home date is scheduled for Wednesday, June 18 th, as the team welcomes the Chinooks to Kenosha for the first time. The home game features " Halloween in June" presented by Racine Factory of Fear. Fans 12 and under will have the opportunity to trick-or-treat on the field after the game, and all fans are encouraged to come dressed in their favorite Halloween costumes. "Smith and Forge Wrestling Night" will be taking place on Thursday the 19 th . Among other wrestling-themed promotions throughout the night, a special appearance will be made by WWE Hall of Famer "Hacksaw" Jim Duggan.
