
Kenny Kelly, Steve Kelly win Bats monthly awards

Louisville, KY â Outfielder Kenny Kelly and Pitcher Steve Kelly have been named Hitter and Pitcher-of-the-Month for May for the Louisville Bats. During the month of May, Kenny Kelly batted a team high .386 with three home runs, 10 RBI, and also scored 25 runs and stole nine bases, both team highs. Kelly played in 28 of Louisville's 29 games.
Kelly had a 16-game hitting streak during the month of May, tied for eighth longest in franchise history and the second longest in the International League this year. His current .330 batting average is seventh best in the IL.
Steve Kelly went 3-0 with a 2.15 ERA during the month of May in six starts. Five of Kelly's six starts were quality outings. Kelly's current ERA of 3.06 is tied for eighth lowest in the IL. The 25-year-old Kelly is in his first season at the Triple-A level after spending all of 2004 at Double-A Chattanooga. Kelly ranked second in the Reds organization and the Southern League with a 2.96 ERA last season.
