Eugene Emeralds News Release

The Eugene Emeralds will host Kelsey Juliana, one of the lead plaintiffs in the nationally-recognized case Juliana v. United States, and local nonprofit organization Our Children's Trust at this Sunday's game against the Tri-City Dust Devils at 5:05pm at PK Park.

In a combination of two powerful messages that our community rallies around, the Emeralds will be encouraging fans to bike to the ballpark along with fellow Ems fans on a gorgeous Sunday afternoon, currently forecasted for limited cloud cover and a high of 76 degrees. Once inside, the Ems celebrate Our Children's Trust in their fight for the right to a sustainable climate, complete with specialty jerseys that fans will have the ability to purchase through a silent auction.

Based here in Eugene, Oregon, Our Children's Trust is a nonprofit organization, elevating the voice of youth, those with the most to lose, to secure the legal right to a healthy atmosphere and stable climate on behalf of present and future generations. Our Children's Trust leads a coordinated global human rights and environmental justice campaign to implement enforceable, science-based Climate Recovery Plans that will return atmospheric carbon dioxide concencration to below 350 ppm by the year 2100.

During the game, fans will have a chance to bid on the specially desgined, game-worn Emeralds/Our Children's Trust jerseys via silent auction. Proceeds from the silent auction will be donated to Our Children's Trust.

Prior to the beginning of Sunday's game, Kelsey Juliana will briefly speak to the crowd at PK Park and also throw out a ceremonial first pitch.
