Second Season Sub-plots
The South Carolina Stingrays fell in game four of their best of five game series to the Gwinnett Gladiators 3-0.
The second round of the playoffs is on the line tonight with game five being played at the North Charleston Coliseum.
Prior to last night, the Stingrays were last shutout on January 19, 2007, when they dropped a 5-0 decision on the road to the Charlotte Checkers. The span lasted 115 regular season and playoff games.
The Stingrays are 6-2 all time in decisive game fives in the playoffs. The Gwinnett Gladiators are 2-2.

The Rest on the Quest
Texas and Columbia skated a scoreless 60 minutes before the Wildcatters won in overtime 1-0 to take a 2-1 series lead.
The Victoria Salmon Kings and the Las Vegas Wranglers each closed out their best of seven game series four games to two.
In the National Conference second round, the Salmon Kings will take on the Utah Grizzlies and the Wranglers will take on the Alaska Aces.

Blast From the Past
In 2001, with the South Carolina Stingrays on their way to winning their second Kelly Cup, the Stingrays were pushed to a decisive game five against Jeff Pyle and the Mobile Mystics at the North Charleston Coliseum. The game and the series were won by the Stingrays on Damian Prescott's double overtime goal. Just three seasons later, the Mystics moved to Gwinnett to become the Gladiators.
