VICTORIA, BC - The Bakersfield Condors battled for their playoff lives, but C Ash Goldie netted a shorthanded tally at 7:59 of the extra session to give the Victoria Salmon Kings a 6-5 overtime win in Game 6 in front of 6,701 fans at Save On Foods Memorial Centre in Victoria Tuesday night.

With the loss, the Condors season comes to a close, as the Salmon Kings take the series, 4-games-to-2.

The Condors and Salmon Kings came out of the gates hot, and put up five goals in the opening frame. F Andrew Ianiero and C Ryan Salvis scored just 31 seconds apart in the opening minutes to give the Condors an early 2-0 lead. After a tally by RW Marc-Andre Bernier cut the lead in half, Bakersfield scored again. D Kevin Truelson finished off a tremendous series of passes from Ianiero and LW Mark Derlago to make it 3-1 at 14:40. Victoria scored on the power play with just over a minute remaining in the period to again make it a one-goal game.

Victoria drew even on the scoreboard at 5:30 of the second period. D Paul Ballantyne laced a perfect shot over the left shoulder of G Yutaka Fukufuji to make it 3-3. Despite a 21-7 shot deficit in the middle frame, the Condors regained the advantage late. F Alexander Naurov buried his second of the playoffs at 18:11 on the power play to make it 4-3 after 40 minutes of play.

The Salmon Kings again erased the deficit, and took their first lead of the game with two tallies in the span of 29 seconds early in the third. RW Ryan Wade's fluke goal, which went in off Ianiero's stick, gave Victoria the 5-4 advantage. At 13:16, however, Ianiero earned revenge. His fifth of the playoffs and second of the night tickled the twine to make it 5-5. It remained that way through the end of regulation, and the two teams headed to overtime for the third time in the series.

A Condors power play in overtime led to the game winner. Victoria took the puck at center ice, and LW Kevin Estrada darted into the Bakersfield zone with the puck. Fukufuji made the original save, but Ash Goldie slipped the rebound home for the series-clinching game-winner.
