COLUMBIA, S.C. (April 23, 2008)-The Columbia Inferno used a Daniel Sparre overtime goal to beat the Texas Wildcatters 2-1 on Wednesday night to even the series 2-2.

The clubs skated through a scoreless first period, but the Wildcatters snatched a 1-0 lead just nine seconds into the second period when Colin Nicholson stole the puck behind the Inferno's net and beat Todd Ford's blocker side.

The Inferno peppered Anton Khudobin with shots throughout the rest of the game, but it was Mac Faulkner who finally solved Texas' shutout streak12:47 into the third period. Faulkner tallied his fourth of the playoffs when he emerged from behind the net and lifted a short-side shot that trickled up Khudobin's glove shoulder and into the net.

The two teams skated to an exciting overtime for the second time in as many nights, but the Inferno would emerge victorious on this occasion. Former Wildcatter winger Daniel Sparre gave the Inferno the victory when, with just four minutes remaining in the extra frame, he tapped a Patrick Wellar rebound past Khudobin's exposed blocker side.

Khudobin stopped 29 of 30, while Ford shunned 49 of 51.

The Inferno will play the decisive game five on Friday, April 25 at 8:30 p.m. in Beaumont, Texas.
