INDIANAPOLIS -- Indianapolis Indians Broadcaster Howard Kellman will handle play-by-play duties for this year's Triple-A Championship Game on ESPN2. The second-annual Bricktown Showdown will be played on Tuesday, Sept. 18, at AT&T Bricktown Ballpark in Oklahoma City. First pitch is set for 8:05 p.m. EDT.

The Bricktown Showdown matches the International League (IL) and Pacific Coast League (PCL) winners in a Winner-Take-All Championship Game. Kellman was behind the microphone in 2006 when Tucson posted a 5-2 victory over Toledo in the first-ever contest.

"We are very pleased that Howard Kellman is getting another opportunity to broadcast this game to a national audience on ESPN2," Indians Vice President & General Manager Cal Burleson says. "Howard's passion for and knowledge of the game will combine for a great play-by-play that viewers from coast to coast will appreciate.

"The Bricktown Showdown is a true championship game for Triple-A Baseball, and it's appropriate that the best broadcaster in Minor League Baseball will be at the microphone to call all the action."

Kellman, who joined the Indians in 1974, is wrapping up his 32nd season as the "Voice of the Tribe." He has been the club's lead play-by-play announcer every season since with the exception of 1975 and 1980.

Honored as Indiana's Sportscaster of the Year in 2002, Kellman has called IHSAA football and basketball games on WHMB-TV 40 since 1990-91. He has also served as the lead announcer on Indians telecasts since 2000.

Kellman, a graduate of Brooklyn College, is highly regarded as a motivational speaker and has his own web site -- www.HowardKellman.com.
