Karr Takes Diablos Deep in Return

Laredo, TX - The newly acquired Palmer Karr Jr. puts a charge into the Lemurs offense with a solo homerun in the seventh inning to give the Laredo Lemurs (16-11) a 2-1 win over the El Paso Diablos  (6-20) Thursday night at Uni-Trade Stadium. 

Karr who played for the Lemurs last year showed up to the ballpark today around 5:30pm and went hitless through his first two at bats before taking Greg Miller deep in the seventh.  Last year Karr played 71 games in a Lemurs uniform hitting .337, with 12 homeruns, and 50 RBI's to help lead the Lemurs to the South Division Championship. 

Lemurs starting pitcher David Newmann (2-1) went six and two thirds, giving up one run, on nine hits, with a walk, and three strikeouts.  Newmann did not factor in the decision, but it was the longest outing for him this season.  

The winning pitcher was Bradly Blanks (3-0) as he threw one and a third, with two strikeouts.  Mike Benacka grabbed his second save of the season throwing a perfect ninth mixing in two strikeouts.  

The Laredo Lemurs will be at Uni-Trade Stadium through Wednesday, June 19as they face off against the El Paso Diablos and the Sioux Falls Canaries.
