The Kamloops Blazers defeated the Kelowna Rockets 3-1 on Saturday night at Prospera Place in Kelowna, winning both ends of a home and home series between the WHL BC Division rivals.
Brendan Ranford, Joel Edmundson and Marek Hrbas scored for the Blazers, who jumped out early, after scoring just 10 seconds into the game.
Myles Bell, with his team leading 32nd of the season, had the only goal for Kelowna, while Jordon Cooke faced 28 shots in net and took the loss.
The win came on the heels of Friday night's 4-2 win by the Blazers in Kamloops and pulled them to within three points of Kelowna in the race for the WHL BC division crown.
The Rockets are off until next weekend when they will head to Victoria for a pair of games against the Royals, playing Friday and Saturday nights.Kelowna returns to Prospera Place Feb. 28 when it takes on the Seattle Thunderbirds.
