K-Wings Unveil Training Camp Roster And Schedule

Kalamazoo, MI- The Kalamazoo Wings, proud member of the ECHL, two-time defending North Division Champions and reigning Eastern Conference Champions and affiliate of the National Hockey League's Vancouver Canucks, announce their roster and schedule for the 2011-2012 training camp, which commences this Monday, October 3rd.

The K-Wings will begin camp with 16 players (8 forwards, 6 defenseman and 2 goaltenders). Nearly half of the K-Wings roster (11 players) had or currently still have their skates laced in American Hockey League Camps this past week.

Two members of the K-Wings (Elgin Reid, and Justin Taylor) participated in the camp of the Rockford IceHogs, while Patrick Asselin skated with the Chicago Wolves,

Several other K-Wings were not included on the training camp roster due to still being in AHL camps and they include Joe Charlebois (Manchester), Ryan Del Monte(Worcester), Jared DeMichiel (Providence), Phil Ginand (Springfield), Mike Matczak (Manchester), Wes O'Neill (Houston), Dean Strong (Chicago) and Brandon Svendsen (Rockford).

Director of hockey operations/head coach Nick Bootland just returned to Kalamazoo from the training camp of the Wolves.

The K-Wings first practice of the season will occur on October 3rd at 1 p.m. at Wings Stadium. Later that night, the team will host the first K-Wings Live (weekly radio show) of the season from 6-7 p.m. at Old Burdick's Wings West.

For the rest of the week (Tuesday-Saturday) practice will commence at 10 a.m. All practices will be held at Wings Stadium.

The K-Wings will get their first taste of preseason game action on Friday, October 7th with a 7:30 p.m. face-off at Wings Stadium versus the Toledo Walleye. Tickets for that preseason game are currently on sale for the low price of $5.

The K-Wings and Walleye will meet again on Saturday, October 8th for a 6 p.m. encounter at the Huntington Center in Toledo.

Fans that can't make it to either preseason game, can still listen to both contests on the radio or on line. Both preseason clashes can be heard live at 95.9 WLKM or at kwings.com starting 15 minutes prior to face-off with the Kalsee Credit Union Pregame Show.

Kalamazoo will open up the home portion of their schedule on Saturday, October 15th versus the Cincinnati Cyclones, with a 7:30 p.m. face-off at Wings Stadium. The K-Wings will host in FREE indoor pregame and postgame tailgate party with live music from Drop 35. Prior to face-off, the K-Wings will also raise their 2010-11 North Division and Eastern Conference Championship banners.

Single-game tickets for the upcoming 2011-2012 season are on sale at the Wings Stadium Ticket Office. Ticket Office hours are Monday-Friday 10 a.m.-6 p.m. and Saturday 10 a.m.-2 p.m. For more information, please call Wings Stadium Ticket Office during regular business hours at (269) 345-5101.

Tickets for all K-Wings home games are $12.90 and $16.90 for adults and only $6.90 for kids ages 12 and under. The price for all K-Wings premium night games (all colored ice games and New Year's Eve game) are just $1 more.

Fans can save money by purchasing K-Wings single game tickets in advance because tickets purchased on the day of a game increase by $1.
