Kalamazoo Wings News Release

One of the best rivalries in minor league hockey will get rekindled in the preseason, as the Kalamazoo Wings host the Fort Wayne Komets in the first half of a home and home series. The two teams will head to Fort Wayne tomorrow to wrap up their preseason schedules.

Playing a preseason game three days into camp, Kalamazoo looked impressive defeating the Muskegon Lumberjacks 2-0 on Wednesday. Goaltenders John Hallas and Andy Pate knocked aside a combined 25 shots, while Lucas Drake and Matt Tyree delivered goals in the victory.

On the ice for the first-time since winning the Turner Cup, the Fort Wayne Komets were equally as impressive defeating the Bloomington PrairieThunder 3-0. Tonight is the second of three preseason games for the Komets and their lone away from Memorial Coliseum.
