K-Wings bolster defense

Kalamazoo, MI- The Kalamazoo Wings of the United Hockey League announce the signing of defenseman Mike Jarmuth.

Jarmuth joins the K-Wings after spending the past four seasons as a member of the Western Michigan University Broncos. With the Broncos, Jarmuth matured into solid offensive defenseman and established himself as one of the top defenseman in the CCHA.

This year, Jarmuth compiled a career high six-goal season and finished as the Broncos second leading scorer among defenseman with 14 points (6 goals, 8 assists). Mike also brings leadership abilities, as he was the Broncos Assistant Captain during his senior season.

Mike has found success on and off the ice. On the ice, the native of Monkton, Ontario was named the Bronco Player of the Week for the week of December 1st. During his junior season, Mike capped off the year by being named the WMU Most Valuable Defenseman. Off the ice, Jarmuth's efforts in the classroom earned him a CCHA All-Academic Special Mention.

K-Wing fans first chance to see Jarmuth will be this Wednesday night at 7 PM, when the K-Wings host the Missouri River Otters at Wings Stadium. Kalamazoo will be looking to extend their UHL franchise record 8 game winning streak.
