Elmira's Jamie Thompson and Peter Aubry earn weekly honors

LAKE ST. LOUIS, MO---The United Hockey League (UHL) announced Tuesday that Elmira Jackals left wing Jamie Thompson has been named Sher-Wood UHL Player of the Week and goaltender Peter Aubry has been named UHL Goaltender of the Week for the period ending Sunday, March 21, 2004.

Thompson completed the 22nd week of the season registering eight-points (4g, 4a) and a plus-five rating in three games to earn his first weekly league award. He opened the week tallying a hat trick and an assist in Friday's 5-2 victory over the Port Huron Beacons. Thompson's three points (1g, 2a) in Saturday's 4-3 win secured the Jackals two-game sweep of the Beacons. The 29-year-old Framingham, Massachusetts native assisted on the first goal of the game in the Jackals' 3-2 win over the Adirondack IceHawks to finish their perfect week.

Other players nominated for the Sher-Wood UHL Player of the Week include: Adirondack defenseman Scott Drevitch, Flint right wing Bobby Reynolds, Fort Wayne defenseman Kelly Perrault, Kalamazoo center Jeff Antonovich, Missouri left wing Forrest Gore, Muskegon center Todd Robinson, Port Huron left wing Brent Gretzky, Quad City defenseman Tom Menicci, Richmond left wing Francis Belanger and Rockford center Maris Ziedins.

Aubry completed the 22nd week of the season posting a 2-0-0 record, a 2.50 goals against average (GAA) and a .950 save percentage (SPCT) to earn his third UHL Goaltender of the Week Award this season. Aubry successfully turned away 95 of 100 shots on goal for the week and registered a 46-save effort in Saturday's 4-3 victory over the Beacons. The 26-year-old Windsor, Ontario native earned UHL Goaltender of the Week honors for Week Four (November 10 - 16, 2003) and Week Eight (December 8 - 14, 2003) and has earned 20 of the Jackals 29 wins this season.

Other players nominated for the UHL Goaltender of the Week include: Adirondack's Scott Dickie, Flint's Jan Chovan, Kalamazoo's Chad Alban, Missouri's Tim Knudsen, Muskegon's Sylvain Daigle, Port Huron's Kory Cooper, Quad City's Jeff Reynaert, Richmond's Maxime Gingras and Rockford's Ronnie Vogel.
