K-Wing Defenseman Rod Aldoff and Goaltender Jason Tapp Earn League Accolades

Kalamazoo, MI- The Kalamazoo Wings, proud member of the International Hockey League, announce that defenseman Rod Aldoff and goaltender Jason Tapp have all earned league awards for the period ending December 21st.

Becoming the first defenseman in the IHL to earn the Pepsi Player of the Week status, Aldoff finished the week with five points (3 goals and 2 assists) and had a plus/minus rating of +6.

Highlighting Aldoff's week was a four-point (3 goals and 1 assist) effort last Saturday night versus Bloomington during the 9th Annual Teddy Bear Toss Night, presented by Hydro Aluminum and WKFR.

The hat trick by Aldoff was the veteran's first in his 13-year pro career.

A three-time recipient Tapp went a perfect 3-0-0-0 last week to skate away with the Southern Sports Supply Goaltender of the Week award. Tapp finished the week with a goals against average of 2.76 and a save percentage of 0.907.

Tapp, who leads the league in victories with 13, has won 11 of his last 12 starts.

Currently tied for first-place, Kalamazoo will continue their four-game road trip this Friday, December 26th with a 7:30 p.m. face-off against the Flint Generals.

Returning home on Wednesday, December 31st, Kalamazoo will close out the 2008 portion of their schedule with a 7:30 p.m. encounter versus the Muskegon Lumberjacks during the 7th Annual COOL 101 New Year's Eve Bash presented by WWMT News Channel 3.

Fans who purchase tickets for the game on December 31st will receive FREE admittance to both the public skate and oldies dance following the contest. Due to limited skate rentals, the K-Wings encourage fans to bring their own skates.

Single-game tickets for any of the K-Wings 38 regular season home games are currently on sale at the Wings Stadium Ticket Office.
