New Hampshire Fisher Cats News Release


Manchester, NH- RHP Justin James joins the Fisher Cats today from Single-A Dunedin. He replaces RHP Rodney Ormond on New Hampshire's roster. Ormond was promoted to Triple-A Syracuse.

The 24-year-old James was 0-2 with a 3.11 ERA in 20 relief appearances with Dunedin this season. This is his first time reaching the Double-A level. Last season with Dunedin, he went 4-7 with a 2.87 ERA in 44 games, five of which were starts. In 29 of his 39 relief appearances he threw multiple innings. He was originally selected by the Blue Jays in the fifth round of the 2003 draft out of the University of Missouri.

The 28-year-old Ormond was 2-3 with two saves and a 2.45 ERA in 22 relief appearances with the Fisher Cats. He was originally selected by the Baltimore Orioles in the 27th round of the 1999 draft out of North Carolina State University. The Blue Jays signed him as a minor league free agent this past off-season. He spent last year with Triple-A Ottawa, making 40 relief appearances.
