Junior Gorillas Add To Weekend Festivities

Amarillo, TX 1/5/10 - Adding to what will be a jam-packed hockey weekend, the Amarillo Junior Gorillas travel hockey team will host the Texas Junior Brahmas in three separate exhibition games from January 9th through January 10th.

After the Junior Gorillas skate with the Junior Brahmas, the Amarillo Gorillas will host the Texas Brahmas later that Saturday night.

"We hope adding the Junior Gorillas & Brahmas to the weekend docket will ignite the Panhandle's excitement for hockey," commented Director of Youth Travel Hockey Jim Williams. "We hope West Texas will support our professional and youth teams this weekend."

Fans may watch the travel teams skate Saturday, January 9th at 7:30am & 3pm as well as Sunday, January 10th at 8:45am. All games are open to the public and admission is FREE.

The Amarillo Gorillas will take on the Texas Brahmas Saturday, January 9th at 7pm.

It's a new year and the Gorillas are now offering $10 tickets for the remainder of the 2010 season! The next home game is this Saturday, January 9th beginning at 7pm in the Amarillo Civic Center. The first 250 fans will receive a cowbell courtesy of Chick-Fil-A. Call (806) 242-PUCK (7825) for show tickets.

Amarillo will face the Arizona Sundogs this Wednesday, January 6th from Prescott Valley, Arizona. The game will be broadcasted on 1440 AM ESPN Radio and CHL-TV beginning at 7:55pm CST. Fans will have an opportunity to win an autograph photo of Gorillas All-Star defenseman Andrew Smale during the second period of the game broadcast by answering a trivia question on the Gorillas' Facebook page.
