Jungle Jamboree Set for Hitmen Skating Rink at Calgary Zoo

Calgary, AB - The Calgary Hitmen in partnership with Hockey Calgary and the Calgary Zoo is ready to host the first ever Jungle Jamboree.

The 3-on-3 hockey tournament features four teams from the Flames Community Atom House League and will be played outdoors on the Hitmen skating rink located at the Calgary Zoo.

This one day festival will be held on Sunday, February 23 from 11:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and see a total of eight 30 minute games with players competing as Gorillas versus Lemurs. The adjacent BBQ lawn will also be transformed into a family-friendly celebration full of games, photo opportunities and a fire pit.

Other highlights include a mascot game featuring Farley the Fox from the Calgary Hitmen, Harvey the Hound from the Calgary Flames and Deke from Hockey Calgary against Bamboo (panda), Waddles (penguin), and Tails (lemur) from the Calgary Zoo. The puck drops on that animal showdown at 2:00 p.m.

Admission to the tournament is FREE with the purchase of a ticket to the Calgary Zoo.
