Jr. Blues hit the ice, prepare for exhibition games
August 24, 2004 - North American Hockey League (NAHL)
Springfield Jr. Blues News Release
After a grueling week of off-ice conditioning, the Junior Blues players have returned to the ice at the Nelson Center.
One of the Jr. Blues players said, "We ran every inch of the fields around the Nelson Center this week and it was hot out, it will be a relief to get out on the ice."
The players worked extremely in the off ice program. The veterans had some idea of what to expect coming in, but for the rookies, this was all new to them and they handled it well.
"I am pleased with the effort from all the players this week and we were excited to take to the ice Saturday," head coach Nick Pollos said.
The Jr. Blues will began on ice practice Saturday afternoon as they prepare for their exhibition games this coming weekend. The Jr. Blues will open the exhibition season the weekend of August 27 with three games at home in the Nelson Center.
This weekend's exhibition schedule:
7:30 p.m. Friday vs. Quad City Express (CSHL)
7:05 p.m. Saturday vs. Peoria Mustangs
3:30 p.m. Sunday vs. St. Louis Jr. B Blues
For all three exhibition games, each adult with a full priced ticket can bring two children 12 and under into the game for free.
