
Barons announce 2004-05 season dates, prepare for training camp

The Cleveland Barons of the North American Hockey League are proud to announce that the 2004-05 regular season home opener on Saturday, September 25 at 7:05 p.m. against the USA National Development Team at the IceLand USA Arena in Strongsville, Ohio.
The Barons will begin their 11th season in the NAHL on August 29 with the beginning of training campattheBaronsArenainParma,Ohio.The Barons will have 30 players reporting to camp trying to make the team this year.
According to head coach /general manager Tim Alexander, "This will be the most competitive camp that we will have, the talent level of these players should make for a great camp."
The Barons will have four exhibition games, two against the Youngstown Phantoms and two versus the Team Toledo IceDiggers. The home-and-home series with the Phantoms will begin September 5 at the Barons Arena, and move back to Boardman, Ohio, on Sunday, September 6. The Barons will then travel to Toledo on Saturday, September 11 and back at the Barons Arena for a Sunday, September 12 game at 3:30 p.m.
The Barons will open the 2004-05 regular season on Friday, September 17 and 18 with a visit to Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan to face the defending North Division regular season champions the Kewadin Soo Indians.
BARONS NOTES: The Barons will begin their second season playing at the IceLand USA Arena in Strongsville, Ohio...The Barons will play 24 home dates plus playoffs this season...IceLand USA is Northeast Ohio's premiere skating and event center conveniently located just east of Interstate 71 on Route 82 (Royalton Rd.) in Strongsville, Ohio one exit south of the Ohio Turnpike near Cleveland...For ticket information call (440) 268-2800.
