SECAUCUS, NJ (Wednesday, March 24, 2004) - MetroStars goalkeeper Jonny Walker has been called to the U.S. Men's National Team for an international friendly against Poland's National Team by U.S. Manager Bruce Arena. The match will take place on Wednesday, March 31, 2004 in Plock, Poland. Kickoff for the match is set for 1:30 p.m. ET, and the game will be broadcast live on ESPN2. Fans can also follow the match live on ussoccer.com's MatchTracker, presented by Philips Electronics.

The U.S. has played Poland more than any other European team in their history and currently hold a 4-7-1 record against the team, but the two sides have only met four times in the past 15 years, each coming away with two victories. The teams will reconvene on July 11th at the newly renovated Soldier Field in Chicago, the U.S. Men's first appearance in the Windy City in more than 11 years.

Walker has garnered his first two international caps this off-season with the U.S. National Team. His first came in January against Denmark, and his second came on March 13th against Haiti at the Orange Bowl in Miami. Walker, who joined the MetroStars after the departure of Tim Howard, had a stellar first season, leading all MLS netminders in goals against average (0.95) and save percentage (78.6%) last season.

Arena's 19-man roster for this match features 10 MLS players and nine foreign based players.

After Poland, the U.S. will face 2002 World Cup foe Mexico on Wednesday, April 28th at the Cotton Bowl in Dallas. Kickoff for the game is set for 8:30 p.m. ET and will be broadcast live coast-to-coast on Telemundo at 7:30 p.m. CT. The team will also play a domestic friendly in the beginning of June, with the site and opponent yet to be determined. The U.S. opens 2006 World Cup qualifying at home against Grenada on June 13th, with the return leg scheduled for June 20th. Details on those matches have yet to be finalized.
