Jones to DL, Silverio Joins Intimidators

KANNAPOLIS, N.C. (August 1, 2015) - The Kannapolis Intimidators, Class A Affiliate of the Chicago White Sox, have placed outfielder Hunter Jones on the Disabled List. In a corresponding move, the team receives outfielder Louis Silverio from the AZL White Sox.

Silverio, 21, appeared in 14 games with Kannapolis in July, batting .227 (10-44) with two doubles, three RBI, and five runs scored. The outfielder has also spent time this season with the Arizona League White Sox and the Advanced Rookie Great Falls Voyagers. He is batting .272 (22-81) with five doubles, three home runs, and 14 RBI in 25 total games between three classifications this season. The White Sox selected Silverio in the 33rd round of the June 2014 First-Year Player Draft out of Florida International.

Jones, 23, has appeared in 23 games for Kannapolis, batting .253 (21-83) with two doubles, six RBI, eight stolen bases, and 13 runs scored. Jones was recently activated off the DL on July 24.

The Intimidators are home tonight at 7:05 p.m. against the Greensboro Grasshoppers in a game featuring a pair of top pitching prospects. Kannapolis sends RHP Spencer Adams (6-5, 3.51 ERA) to the mound against Greensboro's RHP Tyler Kolek (4-7, 4.15 ERA). Gates open at 6 p.m. and post-game fireworks are presented by F&M Bank.
